Dr. N. C. Saxena, IAS ( Retd) visited Rayagada and Kalahandi as a part of the 4 member committee for verifying the application of Scheduled Areas and Other Traditional forest Dwellers act, vis- a vis, the mining project of Orissa mining corporation for the Lanjiagarh Alumina Project.
Dr. Saxena also interacted with the local primitive tribal groups and also held discussions with the District Administration of Kalahandi and officials of Vedanta Aluminium on 8th and with Rayagada District Administration on 9th of July 2010. The other members of the Dr. Saxena committee will shortly visit Rayagada and Kalahandi.
