It is not rare to find swift action from govt officials, but it is rarely noticed and recognised!
In one such instance BDO Ramanaguda, Sri. Bhaskar Raita, received the information , a 'self styled' labour agent named 'Manmath Khandagiri', was illegally trying to traffic 24 persons, which included 16 males and 8 females, all young, of Bokorda village. He then prompltly and without wasting time informed the Dist Labour officer Rayagada, Sri. Jit Mohan Hansda.
Mr. Hansda immediately reached Rayagada railway station, where Khandagiri was trying to take the villagers to Chennai, with the allurement of jobs in factories there. There Sri. Hansda sought the help of Railway protection force and rescued the young villagers. The rescued people were then escorted to their villages by offcials from Ramanaguda Block office.
This swift action of all the officials is being widely appreciated and the Collector Rayagada, Dr. Nitin Jawale, IAS has conveyed his appreciation to the officials by phone.
