1) Free and Open Source Media (FOSM) derives its inspiration from the 'Ethical Humanist' Ubuntu philosophy and is a part of Free and open source Software Movement.

2) It is conceptualized to run and develop in a community mode. There is no individual ownership of it. It is neither a society nor a company. It is only an online forum of like minded and public spirited individuals and organisations

3) Free and Open Source Media will not engage in profiteering by the way of advertisements or use of information for commercial gain.

4) All information of 'Free and Open Source Media' is in free public domain and anybody is free to use it for a non commercial, non profit motive without violating the copyright of individual contributors.

5)Free and Open Source Media will not engage in copyright infringement.

6)Government notices and advertisements will be displayed free of cost.'
