In the holy moth of Ramzan, the 4th battalion of CRPF stationed in Rayagada, hosted an Iftar party, with the people of different religion attended.This is a laudable effort on the part of CRPF authorities to familiarize and endear themselves to the local people.
The Iftar party was preceded by a discussion on communal harmony and naxalism, in which Collector Rayagada was the chief guest. The other guest of honour were SP, Rayagada, Sri. Anoop Krishna , IPS, representative of different religious comminities ,Sri. Baxi-Patro senior advocate and a respected trade union veteran from Rayagada, Sri. Kartar Singh Nur representative of the Sikh community in Rayagada, sisters from Deepti convent, Father Upasi and Father Bacheli and Ulemas of the Muslim Community in Rayagada. Sri. J. P. K Ray, commandant 4th Bn, presided over the function and Sri. Nishit Kumar, II-in- command gave the vote of thanks.
