The much awaited Town portion work of Vijaywada Ranchi corridor project, which was inaugurated by the Honourable CM, Naveen Patnaik, started today. The present 5.5 m road is to be widened to 10 m of blacktop portion and another meter of shoulders on either side. The portion passing from the town proper is to be four laned. the present rate of increase of vehicular traffic, commercial as well as private, had not only deteriorated the road condition, but had also led to traffic congestion. Also Rayagada is the fastest growing town of south Orissa,with number of Mega and medium scale project in the offing. With the coming up of this road project the citizens of Rayagada will feel some respite. Road projects worth mor ethan 300 crore in all in different parts of the district are being undertaken. These projects when completed will surely change the face of the district and boost the economy of not only the district but also of the entire south Orissa.
