MAJOR NREGS MISAPPROPRIATION UNEARTHED BY THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION

Rayagada district administration has unearthed a major missapropriation of MGNREGS funds in the Sagada GP of Gunupur Block. On receipt of information from reliable sources about a month back, Collector Rayagada, Dr. Nitin.B.Jawale, IAS instructed the Executive Engineer Minor Irrigation Division, Sri. Pradeep Padhi, to conduct a detailed inquiry in this matter. Accordingly Sri. Padhi submitted a report to the Collector Rayagada, in which misappropriation to the tune of about Rs. 13 lakh, which includes false billing of Rs. 4 lakhs in one project, was detected in three works under NREGS in that GP alone. the concerned JEs Sri. B.B.Parida, Sri. S.K.Panda, 3 Gram Sanjojaks and concerned VLW have been placed under suspension by Collector Rayagada. The role of assistant Engineer Gunupur Block and other concerned higher officials, including BDO will be probed in detail, Collector Rayagada said.

Following is the inquiry report submitted by Sri. Pradeep Kumar Padhi, Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation Division, Rayagada to the Collector & District Magistrate, Rayagada
