Dr. C. S. Kumar, IAS, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Division) visited Rayagada district on 23rd and 24th July 2010. On 23rd RDC (SD) inspected the office of Sub Collector, Rayagada. The next day was for field visit in the first half. RDC visited Kalyansinghpur block and first thing that was seen was an Anganwadi centre. RDC laid special emphasis on the weighment of the children in 0-6 years age group to identify grade 3 and grade four malnourished children and to take remedial action thereof. RDC also inspected number of NREGA works, especially 'Mo Pokhari'.
One of the most important area of interest for RDC is tribal welfare, particularly education. On his visit RDC inspected Rivalkona, Budaguda and Siripur TRW residential sevashrams. The headmasters of all sevashrams in Southern dicision have been given specific instruction from RDC like preparing a lesson plan, career counselling, to make available 'Employment news' to students in the school and the most important of all tracking the passed out students and giuding them further with courses such tha those of ITI and other vocational institutes.
In the second half RDC reviewed the functioning of different schemes of government and functioning of line depts. in this district.
